Since meeting Matt Williams in August 2010 at Stourbridge Rugby Club, life has never been the same. My involvement with Matt has been extensive within the whole club particularly within the Mini and Junior section. He has involved himself fully with all Mini & Junior age groups, giving coaching sessions at all ages from Micros to Under 16’s. He has delivered quality coaching sessions helping to improve individual player skills, to build team spirit and to improve the quality of coaching delivered by our own coaches. On top of this he also coaches our Ladies team and the Black Country Under 15’s squad.
Matt has engaged himself in the various events we hold at the club from the Christmas Fair, the Under 13’s invitational tournament, the North Midlands Cup and the Plate matches to the extent of dying his hair pink and then having his head shaved for charity.
Matt is a really good person who is liked by all at our Club and it is a pleasure to work with him.
Matt makes regular appearances for our National League One team, The Stourbridge Saxons. Once again, he is well known and liked within the team and as a result regularly enrolls his fellow players to assist with his work within the Mini & Juniors.
We were very fortunate to have his support at Stourbridge Rugby Club.

I have known Matthew for a long time when he coached my son at club rugby but from that my son has been involved in Matthews Academy for 5 years and is now playing at a high level as a 17 year old young man. Matthew has the ability to challenge motivate and get the best out of my son and others he is a great role model and will always push to make sure players max there potential. I have known Matthew for over three years we have coached at county together he has also coached my son and we have worked together at Old Hales to not only deliver to players but coaches. My role is Coach Development manager at Old Hales. Matthews Knowledge and passion for the game is of the highest level and he can engage excellently with players’ parents and coaches and always seems to get the most out of each child.
